Modern Race Engines

We classify Modern engines as engines designed and built in the last 10-15 years which utilise modern engine technologies such as :

  • ECU control
  • Fuel Injection
  • Variable Valve timing
  • 4 valve head
  • Alloy components
  • Turbocharging
  • Supercharger

Although many of these techologies have existed for some time, they have radically advanced in the last 10 years. We have followed this trend with a full range of tools and techniques which equip us to get the best from the latest engines.

Engine advances

Fundamentally of course, an engine is an engine. However a new ere of highly efficient, powerful and flexible engines is upon us. These engines make fantactic use of

  • modern metalurgy giving strength, lightness and design optimisation.
  • sophisticated computer aided design and simulation.
  • advanced engine management .
  • efficient fuel injection systems.
  • Advanced forced induction

The result is a huge increase in efficiency and power. To improve on these highly sophisticated engines not only takes and understanding of how they work (that is just the start). It also involves keeping up to date with the latest tuning and manufacturing techniques and being able to sucessfully implement these techniques in the right way.

We have invested heavily in the latest engine technology.

  • Computer aided gas flow analysis.
  • Sophisticated engine simulation software.
  • CNC Engineering (Machining, crankshaft balancing, valve seating).
  • Digitised scanning with CAD/CAM technology.
  • Computer controlled and monitored 1000BHP dynometer.
  • Rolling road tuning.
  • Custom ECU mapping and race engine management systems.

These modern facilities together with continuously updated experience with the huge range of engines we deal with daily gives us the ability to deal with any engine, of any size, age or potential application.

  • Turbo Diesel engines
  • Supercharged engines
  • Turbo petrol and methanol engines
  • Multivalve with variable valve timing
  • Any engine configuration 4 cylinder to V12.
  • From a performace engine update to a full race engine for any application and any state of tune.
  • Circuit racing at any level
  • Rally and Rallycross
  • Drag racing
  • Sprint
  • Trackday
  • Fast Road applications
  • Standard body, bespoe race cars and kit cars of any type

The important fact here is the bespoke, custom nature of our service. We discuss your needs and the needs of the application. We work within your budget to deliver an agreed design and build which meets or exceeds your target objective.

Modern Engines - Case examples

The following list is quite recent as the website is new but we hope to build it up. We are very proud of our engines and an interesting classic engine is always worth talking about. We'll be adding to this list as we go along.
